Victoria Armstrong is a founding member and staff director of Bike Walk Tompkins (BWT), a local advocacy organization* based in Ithaca, NY. Along with a core of Bike Walk Tompkins founders, Ms Armstrong has been working on bike advocacy in Ithaca in various capacities since the Cayuga Waterfront Trail project began in 2000. Bike Walk Tompkins is best known for Streets Alive!, a popular twice yearly open streets event that just completed its 13 edition. Most recently, in 2017/18, BWT facilitated bringing bikeshare to Ithaca as part of a project to double cycling in the city. The dockless system LimeBike (now Lime) launched in Ithaca, its first NY State market, in April 2018. BWT continues to shepherd and address the community response while using bikeshare as a tool to improve cycling conditions overall.
